[SWEET KAZUKIIII at some point they will cross paths again and Childe will wander over. He is not going to turbo-adopt Kazuki like Kaveh did but he's lowkey checking in on him.]
[Thinks about how Skirk apparently plays guitar and starts shaking. Why is this information coming out after game start. I hate it here
ANYWAY let them be in the simulation room!! And Childe is always happy to simulate Teyvat, but since Kazuki is already familiar with it, he glances over at him instead.]
[ she WHAT. the way i ran to look this up holy shit. what!!!
anyway the irony is that he absolutely doesn't know a thing about teyvat, actually, but this is. fine. though he does look very hesitant about the vr headsets. ]
Uh. Sure, I guess, but it's really not that special. No magic or anything, you know?
[ throws them somewhere in terminal 3 when oh no, a memory strikes (1:13:46 to 1:16:18).
you slam the stage door open, ignoring the cheers from the fans as you scan the crowd, looking for one face in particular. akito follows close on your heels, pleading.
"Kazuki, come on. We should go back. This isn't--"
"No. Not yet."
you keep looking, but this is a sea of girls and young women you don't recognize. how can you expect to find one person among them? it was dumb to even try, and you're ready to give up, when your eyes meet ichika's, and you stalk toward her as an odd mix of emotions bubble up from the pit of your stomach, pushing aside the groupies in your way.
"What are you doing here?" you demand as soon as you're within hearing distance. you hear akito jog up behind you, but you ignore him, focused so intently on your sister's face. she shouldn't be here. why is she here?
"What?" she asks, looking confused. "I'm here to see your concert. I told you, didn't I?"
"I didn't think you were actually serious." why would you? she's never cared before. "What about work today?"
"I got all my work done so I could leave early. I really wanted to come see you on your big day."
...of all the things she could have said, that's the last you expected. it strikes you speechless, at least until her companion speaks up - a man with red hair and an eyepatch. you recognize him from yesterday, the presumptuous lost puppy. he goes on about how ichika wanted to support you so much that she even invited her coworkers - and maybe he means that to be supportive, but it's just annoying.
"Isshiki-san hates the cops," is the only explanation you offer when she asks what you mean. "If you cause problems, I'll never forgive you."
with one last glare, you turn around and leave. the stage door slams shut behind you, and for a moment, you simply stop and stare at the wall in disbelief. ichika is really here. she actually came, and with friends, even. you hadn't dared to think she would actually be here just to see you perform.
...you'll have to do even better than all the rehearsals. this is your only shot. you can't blow it now.
There's no escaping the memory, and Childe doesn't try, simply letting the experience wash over him. It sends pangs of nostalgia through him--this isn't his family, but he understands the complex feelings flowing between brother and sister all the same. When he ends, he looks at Kazuki.]

Not exactly my first choice, but it'd do in a pinch!

I guess you could say the passports are interesting, too. Like... you know this Alex, right?

[ anyway. ]
Which do I call you?
[ there are two names on childe's passport? ]

[He still doesn't have the greatest grasp on timeline nonsense, but it's better than it was before.]
My name's Tartaglia, but you can call me Childe, if that's easier. I'm used to both.

That's alright. That's different to me, after all. [Hell is not the same as normal-ass Japan]
no subject
[ still hesitant but maybe... he will just dissociate. that would be fine, probably. ]
Not much to fight in Shinjuku, though, aside from maybe a few drunks.
no subject
Hey, I don't always need something to fight. I like traveling too.
no subject
[ scaramouche, that is. anyway putting on his dissociation cap, he reaches for the headset. ]
Alright... let's get this over with, I guess.
