Mm. She said she was considering raising the stakes to "decide our fates"--double or nothing, as a way to appeal to the masses.

Idiotic. Even if they all say they would be okay with the loss, I would be hard pressed to believe it. They're just that convinced that their stubbornness will see them through, that they wouldn't even consider the possibility of failing in any significant way.

She did mention she wouldn't risk her own escape, so I can't imagine what she means by "nothing"... but you're right, she seemed pretty convinced it would be easy to win. [Everyone gets unnerfed and gets lulled into a false sense of security like IDIOTS, thinks Childe, who is the most obnoxious combination of a hypocrite but also paranoid.] I guess it's no skin off our backs if they lose, but it seems more likely that he's just going to say no.

[THEY'RE BOTH SO FUCKING OBNOXIOUS IN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT WAYS. See: Scaramouche scoffing at this very well-meaning gesture like it disgusts him, because it does for many reasons.]

It's mostly for their own sake than for ours, anyway. Some of them just hate losing, and others want to be able to free themselves from the guilt they might otherwise feel for leaving us behind by doing something where they can then tell themselves that at least they gave it a try.
